In a wide-ranging interview published today by Game Informer, veteran game designer Jade Raymond speaks to some of the cultural differences between Ubisoft and Electronic Arts and lays out a bit more detail about her new role at EA.
One of the notable takeaways for developers is that Motive, the Montreal-based studio formed by Raymond when she joined EA, will be more involved with the development of the Star Wars game currently in production at EA’s Visceral Games in California.
Uncharted scribe Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog last year to work on the project, and Raymond now says she expects to be working closely with Hennig as the two studios share production work.
“The team at Motive has creative ownership over a significant portion of the game. Amy’s going to spend quite a bit of time in Montréal,” Raymond told Game Informer in response to a question about the division of labor. “But it’s probably not quite 50 percent.”
