Minecraft lead developer Jens Bergensten and Avalanche Studios founder Christofer Sundberg are among the six game industry figures who have signed on to mentor participants in the upcoming Stugan game dev accelerator program.
If you don’t remember Stugan, it’s basically being advertised as a kind of non-profit summer camp for indie game makers — up to 20 developers and their equipment will be squirrelled away in the Swedish countryside for two months to make games with guidance from program mentors.
In addition to Bergensten and Sundberg, that includes: Rovio Stockholm GM Oskar Burman, Gamefounders co-founder Paul Bragiel and King’s Candy Crush Saga overseer Alexander Ekvall as well as Resolution Games CEO (and former Candy Crush frontman) Tommy Palm
Stugan organizers and other Swedish game industry professionals are funding the project with help from the Swedish government and the Swedish Games Industry trade group, and they say all participants will retain rights to their work and get an opportunity to travel to Stockholm and pitch their game to publishers and investors at the end of the project.
Developers interested in applying to the program can do so via the Stugan website through April 15th.
